Dr. Bassyouni was born in Calgary, then moved to Egypt and returned to Calgary to complete university studies and medical school. She works at the Foothills and Peter Lougheed hospitals to provide general endocrinology and diabetes in pregnancy care as well as provide outreach clinics at non-profit organizations. She is heavily involved in medical education at the Undergraduate, Post graduate and continuing medical education levels, as well as multiple community, volunteer and patient advocacy activities and initiatives.

Hilda Broomfield Letemplier leads an Inuit/Indigenous Women-owned business servicing natural resource projects in Newfoundland and Labrador. Hilda has been honoured with the 2023 Aboriginal Business Lifetime Achievement Award by the CCIB, the 2022 Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneur’s Leadership Award and was an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalist and winner of Special Citation for Community Builder in 2023. Her work promotes diversity and inclusiveness, reflecting her unique perspective as a rural Indigenous entrepreneur in the mining industry.

Her initiatives include establishing a bursary program supporting Black Concordia University students from single-parent households.
